IEX Group appoints Rachel Barnett as Chief Legal Officer
IEX Group, Inc has announced the appointment of Rachel Barnett as its Chief Legal Officer. In this role, Ms Barnett will oversee all legal and compliance matters for the company.
Ms Barnett has an extensive background working as a general practitioner and litigator. She has guided strategic business initiatives for private and public companies while also overseeing Board governance, mergers and acquisitions, real estate portfolios, complex commercial transactions, IP, litigation, and employment matters.
Rachel Barnett began her career in private practice as a securities litigator at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where she specialized in representing corporations and their officers and directors in a variety of complex litigation matters. She then spent five years as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Travelzoo, where she advised executives on a broad range of legal and commercial matters, including corporate governance, strategic planning, international acquisitions, and SEC compliance.
Most recently, Ms Barnett was General Counsel and Secretary at Brooks Brothers and a member of the company’s executive leadership team.
She received her Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School and serves as a Lecturer in Law there as well. Ms Barnett authored A Short & Happy Guide to Business Contracts, a guide for practitioners on how to negotiate terms and avoid common pitfalls in everyday business contracts.

Ms Barnett will report to the CEO and Co-Founder of IEX, Brad Katsuyama.
