Freetrade CEO Jenny Zhao departs
Following less than a three month tenure in the job, Jenny Zhao has apparently left her role as CEO of UK based neobroker Freetrade.
Freetrade was acquired last year by IG Group (LON:IGG) for £160 million, and soon after began recruiting for a new CEO, to replace co-founder Viktor Nebehaj. The company brought in Jenny Zhao from outside “the industry”, and following regulatory approvals she joined the Freetrade board on May 29 and formally took up CEO duties.
Regulatory filings now show that Jenny stepped down from the Freetrade board as of August 21, and her LinkedIn status shows August 2026 as her end-date at Freetrade.
We’d note that FNG reported last week that parent company IG Group was planning to cut hundreds of jobs from its workforce of about 2,300 employees across the organization. It isn’t clear if Jenny Zhao’s departure is connected to the overall staff decreases within IG Group.
