Exclusive: Saxo hires Danske Bank exec Emil Valdemar Madsen as CMO
FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that Copenhagen based Retail FX and CFDs broker Saxo Bank is continuing to make changes in its senior management ranks, ahead of the company’s planned IPO.
After we reported exclusively over the weekend that Saxo Bank’s CFO Mette Ingeman Pedersen had resigned just three weeks after the company announced plans to go public (prompting the company to put out a note yesterday about naming an internal interim CFO), FNG has now learned that Saxo has gone outside the company (and “the industry”) to hire Emil Valdemar Madsen as Saxo’s new Global Head of Marketing & Brand.
Emil Valdemar Madsen joins Saxo Bank from Danish bank Danske Bank, where he was Head of Brand Strategy & Creative Execution, First Vice President, reporting to the Group CMO. Prior to joining Danske Bank in 2021 he worked as Global Head of Planning – the Barn, Arla Food’s in-house agency. He has also previously worked at Barclays in London (as Brand Planning Lead, Barclays UK), FCB Inferno, Isobar, Edelman, Vertic, and Novo Nordisk A/S.
As noted above Saxo Bank announced plans to go public last month via a merger with a SPAC and list its shares on Euronext Amsterdam. Saxo Bank is controlled by Chinese conglomerate Geely Group.
