FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that crypto exchange operator (and burgeoning CFDs broker) Crypto.com has made yet another senior hire from the online brokerage space, adding longtime IG Group executive Sam Irwin, as Director – VIP Relationship Management.

Based in London, Sam Irwin had been with leading UK online broker IG for more than 18 years, starting in 2007 as a Sales Trader and working his way up the ladder to become Head of New Business UK in 2012, and later Head of Client Management UK, a role he has filled since 2021.

Crypto.com has made no secret of its plans to expand beyond crypto into “traditional” financial instrument trading, earlier this year acquiring a CySEC CIF license (via its purchase of A.N. Allnew Investments Ltd, which operated the BrightFX CFDs brokerage brand). The company has also been active on the hiring front, bringing on board a number of ex IG Group personnel (as well as executives from other CFD brokers) including Chris Old as VP of Organic Growth, Kevin Algeo to head Capital Markets, Manuel Del Aguila Barbero as SVP Global Growth Marketing, and Alex Ratford as Partnerships head.

Crypto.com also added former Saxo marketing vet Nicolò Pagliari as VP of Growth and Media, and former LegacyFX CEO Michael Floros, as GM of Crypto.com Cyprus.
