FNG Exclusive… Another (former) OvalX executive has found a new home in the industry, following the closure of the London based broker formerly known as ETX Capital earlier this year.

FNG has learned that OvalX’s longtime Head Of Online and Institutional Services, Michael Baker, has joined Capital.com as Head of UK Premium Clients. We would remind FNG readers that Capital.com acquired OvalX’s client base after the decision was made to shutter OvalX, as was also reported exclusively at the time by FNG.

Michael Baker joined OvalX (then known as ETX Capital) in 2016 as a Sales Trader, and as named Head of Relationship Management in 2020 and then Head of Online and Institutional Services in 2021. He previously worked at Pip Index Capital Markets, Panima Capital, and Divento Financials.

London based Capital.com has been on a year-long-plus hiring spree, after bringing on board as CEO former IG Group CEO Peter Hetherington in mid 2022. The company operates several licensed subsidiaries in the UK, Australia, and Cyprus. Capital.com, and its sister brand Currency.com are controlled by British tech entrepreneur Victor Prokopenya.
