Crypto.com hires Saxo marketing vet Nicolò Pagliari as VP of Growth and Media
Crypto trading platform giant Crypto.com has made yet another senior hire from the Retail FX and CFDs industry, although the latest one is in the Far East, not Europe.
Joining Crypto.com as its new Global VP of Growth and Media is Singapore based executive Nicolò Pagliari. Nicolò comes to Crypto.com from online broker Saxo Bank, where he spent the past seven years, beginning as a Digital Marketing Strategist in Saxo’s Copenhagen headquarters before relocating last year to Singapore, where he has served as Head of Marketing – Asia and Pacific for Saxo Bank.
We had reported over the past few months that Crypto.com was clearly making a major push into the CFDs brokerage business, hiring a number of (mainly ex IG Group) executives including new Crypto.com VP of Organic Growth Chris Old, Capital Markets head Kevin Algeo, and Alex Ratford as Partnerships head.
Earlier this year Crypto.com acquired a CySEC CIF licensed company (formerly the operator of the BrightFX online trading brand) to expand traditional instrument trading across Europe, including CFDs. Crypto.com rival Kraken has made a similar move, also out of Cyprus, as a number of crypto trading providers are moving to expand into other product areas, including stocks, futures, and CFDs trading.
Nicolò posted the following note today on social media regarding his move to Crypto.com.
New chapter:
I have joined Crypto.com as Global VP of Growth and Media.
It is a project where the ambition level is sky high and I am truly energized as I take on this challenge. The commitment to growth and innovation at Crypto.com is really amazing, and I am looking forward to contribute to it.
I will be working with a talented global team while based in Singapore. The scale of international expansion as well as product development is at a critical turning point and I am sure it will be a phenomenal journey.
That said, it was not easy to part ways with Saxo after 7 fantastic years. It took one of those opportunities that you can’t say no to, in order to take the leap and move onwards. I have expressed my gratitude to my colleagues in a private letter rather than a public post, but Saxo has been an excellent workplace and culture to develop in. I will always be proud of my time there.
Now it is time to embrace the new challenge.
As they say: Fortune favours the brave.
