Clare Francis not to seek re-election as CMC Markets non-exec director
CMC Markets plc (LON:CMCX), a leading provider of online financial trading and B2B institutional solutions, announced today that Clare Francis has advised the Company of her intention not to seek re-election as Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Risk Committee at the conclusion of the 2026 Annual General Meeting.
In the interim, she will continue to support the Board to ensure a comprehensive and orderly handover of her responsibilities.

The process to identify a new director and Risk Committee Chair has been initiated will be overseen by the nomination committee.
Clare Francis joined CMC Markets as a Non-Executive Director in December 2022. Having started her career at NatWest, she has over 25 years’ experience operating at board level in large companies in the UK and overseas, and has spent over 25 years in banking and markets. She has experience in driving emerging markets across Asia, Africa and Americas. She is an honorary fellow of the Association of Corporate Treasurers and has sat on the boards of AFME and BAB.
Clare Francis was most recently the global banking head of Europe, and chief executive of Standard Chartered Bank UK, and global head of investors and insurance at Standard Chartered Bank. She has also held roles as head of global corporates/international and global head of financial market sales at Lloyds Banking Group, and was head of European financial market advisory at HSBC.
She has recently been appointed as a senior adviser to Provenance Blockchain, which will provide insight into fintech and the disruption of financial services.
