Exclusive: Trading 212 adds Raj Somal to its Board
FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that UK/Bulgarian online broker Trading 212 has continued to build the board of its London based, FCA licensed arm Trading 212 UK Limited, adding Raj Somal as a Director.
Raj Somal joined clearing and custody firm GPP Group in 2016 as Group Legal Counsel, and joined the Board of Directors of the company in 2020. She is responsible for Business Assurance (legal, compliance, risk) and HR at GPP. Prior to joining GPP, Raj was Legal Counsel at a number of leading financial service companies including Janus, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and GAM. Raj also sits as a Non Executive Director of Titan Asset Management.
Trading 212 saw its Revenues more than quadruple in 2020, to £124 million (USD $166 million), and over the past year has been overhauling its management ranks and Board of Directors to help manage the growth. These changes have included, as were also exclusively reported by FNG, new CEO Mukid Chowdhury (hired from Tickmill), COO George Mantilas, and CFO Philip Parsons. Other Directors who have joined the Trading 212 UK board include Gary Dixon and Andrew Bole.
Trading 212 is controlled by Bulgarian entrepreneurs Borislav Nedialkov and Ivan Ashminov.
