Exclusive: OANDA hires Saxo Bank’s Head of FX Michael Aagaard
FNG Exclusive… For the second time today we have a report regarding a senior Saxo Bank executive who has left the firm, joining a rival.
After reporting that Saxo Bank’s Head of Prime Brokerage Peter Plester had joined Exness, FNG has learned that longtime Saxo Bank executive Michael Aagaard has left, joining OANDA.
Michael Aagaard, based in Copenhagen, had been with Saxo Bank for 20 years, joining after university graduation in 2002 to work on developing new Back Office systems. He moved to the Front Office in 2008, as Senior Business Analyst – FX Market Making, and in 2012 was promoted to COO – Foreign Exchange, responsible for coordinating and executing Saxo’s business development strategy, reporting to the Global Head of Foreign Exchange.
In 2019 Mr. Aagaard was named Head of Foreign Exchange at Saxo Bank, responsible for the FX products (Spot, Forwards, Swaps, Options and Cryptos) throughout the value chain.
At OANDA Michael Aagaard will be a Digital Assets Consultant, working as a contractor and assisting OANDA with its digital assets offering.
