OSE, TOCOM to begin holiday trading in derivatives market
Osaka Exchange, Inc. (OSE) and Tokyo Commodity Exchange, Inc. (TOCOM) will begin holiday trading in their derivatives market on September 23, 2022 (Autumnal Equinox Day).
The aim is to offer further convenience for investors through provision of hedging opportunities during national holidays, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of Japan’s derivatives markets. Thanks to the start of derivatives holiday trading, derivative products such as Nikkei 225 Futures and Platts Dubai crude oil Futures can be traded on holidays.
The eligible products for holiday trading are Index Futures, Index Options, Commodity Futures and Options on Commodity Futures. JGB Futures, Options on JGB Futures and Securities Options are not eligible.
Auction trading and off-floor trading (J-NET trading) are available as on weekdays.
Order types are, in principle, the same as on weekdays. However, Good till Date/Good till Cancel orders (GTC/GTD) will expire between the end of holiday trading and the start of the day session on the business day following the holiday, regardless of whether the products are eligible for holiday trading.
