Marex Spectron International to pay $110k fine for alleged violations of NYMEX rules
CME Group has posted a notice of disciplinary action against Marex Spectron International Limited.
Pursuant to an offer of settlement in which Marex Spectron International Limited (“MSIL”) neither admitted nor denied the rule violations or factual findings upon which the penalty is based, a Panel of the New York Mercantile Exchange Inc. (“NYMEX”) Business Conduct Committee found that on August 29, 2024, through November 14, 2025, MSIL, an introducing broker located in the United States, submitted block trades to the Exchange with inaccurate execution times, failed to report block trades to the Exchange within the required time period following execution, and negotiated and executed certain block trades at a non-tradeable price, resulting in MSIL reporting inaccurate execution times to the Exchange in various Crude Oil options, Crude Oil futures, and Natural Gas options markets.
Additionally, the Panel found that MSIL did not properly supervise its employees because it did not provide clear guidance to its employees regarding reporting the execution of block trades to ensure compliance with the Exchange’s block trade reporting rules.
The Panel concluded that MSIL thereby violated NYMEX Rules 526, 526.F., and 432.W.
In accordance with the settlement offer, the Panel ordered MSIL to pay a fine of $110,000.
The effective date of the notice is October 2, 2026.
