Cboe Options Exchange to extend Global Trading Hours session
Effective trade date August 26, 2024, Cboe Options Exchange (C1) will extend the Global Trading Hours (GTH) trading session to 9:25 a.m. ET.
The cutoff time for order acceptance during the volatility index product settlement opening process will also be updated.
Currently, the GTH session ends at 9:15 a.m. ET and the RTH session begins at 9:30 a.m. ET.
Upon the effective date, the GTH session will be extended by 10 minutes to 9:25 a.m. ET. The RTH session will continue to begin at 9:30 a.m. ET, leaving a 5-minute pause between the GTH and RTH sessions.
Additionally, during the opening process for options used to determine the settlement value for volatility index products, the cutoff time for acceptance of new orders, order modifications, and order cancels will be moved from 9:20 a.m. ET to 9:26 a.m. ET.
After the cutoff time at 9:26 a.m., only Settlement Liquidity Orders on the Open (SLOO) orders and Appointed Market Maker Quotes (AMMQ) will be allowed.
