Monex’s Coincheck to add Moonbirds to its NFT marketplace
Coincheck, Inc., a subsidiary of Monex Group, Inc (TYO:8698), plans to add “Moonbirds” to its NFT marketplace. Coincheck NFT (beta version) will begin handling “Moonbirds” on September 21, 2022.
“Moonbirds” are NFTs issued by a project undertaken by PROOF Holdings, Inc. and feature an owl motif. These 10,000 “Moonbirds” were sold in April 2022, creating quite a buzz. They are mainly used as profile images on social media such as Twitter and Facebook.
The rarity is defined by the owl’s color, background color, eyes, ornaments, facial expressions, and other characteristics, and its NFT holders are eligible for membership in the “PROOF Collective,” a group of 1,000 NFT collectors and artists, and access to discord.
Coincheck NFT (β version) was launched in March 2021 as the first NFT marketplace operated by a crypto asset exchange in Japan. As a service that allows users to trade NFTs more easily, safely, and securely with no network fees, the service is currently being used by over 120,000 customers. Coincheck NFT (beta version) continues to provide an opportunity for customers to become more familiar with NFTs, which have the potential to become a new means of value exchange, by increasing the handling of NFTs used in a wide range of fields, including blockchain games, art, sports, fashion, and the metaverse.
