Connectivity issues plague Coinbase work
Clients of Coinbase had a rough Wednesday, as outages plagued the work of some services offered by the cryptocurrency company.
At 07:18 PDT on October 27, 2021, the company confirmed that Coinbase.com was experiencing connectivity issues and said it was investigating them. The incident was resolved at 11:13 PDT.
However, several hours later, Coinbase said it was experiencing connectivity issues. The problems lasted for more than two hours before the incident was reported as resolved.
On top of that, on October 27, at 12:38 PDT, Coinbase said it was seeing failures in Coinbase Card swipes from its users. The company said it was actively investigating this issue. This incident was resolved at 14:31 PDT.
Coinbase keeps a full log of tech issues here. Perhaps one of the most notable recent incidents concerns 2FA notifications. On August 27, 2021, the company said it was aware a large number of customers had received notifications (email/SMS) that 2FA settings were changed. This appeared to have been sent in error.
About three hours after the confirmation of the issues Coinbase said it had verified no security settings were changed unintentionally, and the notifications had been sent in error. Full functionality was restored.
