Binance to discontinue certain product offerings in Norway
Binance keeps shrinking its offerings across the globe, with its clients in Norway to be affected by the latest changes.
Today, Binance announced it will be discontinuing the following offerings in Norway:
- NOK trading pairs
- NOK payment options
- Norwegian language website support
Binance notes that it does not maintain any official Telegram or other online communication channels in Norwegian.
The changes are effective immediately.
Binance has been subject to a number of regulatory actions in various jurisdictions. Earlier in August, De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) announced that Binance is providing crypto services in the Netherlands without the required legal registration with DNB. The warning applies to Binance Holdings Limited as the owner of intellectual property rights, as well as the entities under which Binance provides crypto services in the Netherlands.
In June 2021, the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) announced the imposition of requirements on Binance Markets Limited. The entity is not currently permitted to undertake any regulated activities without the prior written consent of the FCA.
No other entity in the Binance Group holds any form of UK authorisation, registration or licence to conduct regulated activity in the UK, the FCA says.
