Binance launches USDT-settled Commodity Options for Gold and Silver
Binance has announced the launch of Commodity Options, giving users access to USDT-settled, European-style contracts for gold and silver through the exchange’s options infrastructure.
The new product is part of Binance’s broader TradFi offering and is designed to let traders express market direction, trade volatility, and hedge existing exposure from a single Binance account.
The contracts are cash-settled in USDT, with no underlying asset required to trade or settle. For buyers, the maximum loss is limited to the premium paid, and long positions do not carry liquidation risk.
The available underlyings are XAUUSDT and XAGUSDT, and trading can also be accessed through the Binance App and API.
The product uses European-style exercise at expiry only, with 1-day and 1-week expiries per underlying, and retail users are limited to long-only activity, including buy to open and sell to close.
Trading hours follow the underlying market sessions, with gold and silver options open from Sunday 6:00 PM (ET) to Friday 5:00 PM (ET), and the market closed from 5:00 PM (ET) to 6:00 PM (ET) each day.
