HKEX and HKMA today announced a joint pilot project to explore a new digital payment solution for the After-Hours Trading (AHT) session in the derivatives market.
The pilots under Phase 1 showed that an e-HKD could add unique value to the current payment ecosystem in Hong Kong in three main areas.
Trials were conducted to explore how a hypothetical e-HKD might support payment use cases.
