Swissquote adds Semiconductor Industry Portfolio to Themes Trading
Leading Swiss online trading firm Swissquote has further expanded its Themes Trading lineup by adding the Semiconductor Industry Portfolio.
Swissquote Semiconductor Industry Portfolio invests in companies that are leaders in providing semiconductor-related products and services throughout the whole supply chain, including: manufacturers of memory chips (DRAM & NAND), suppliers of analog ICs, chip designers, electronic design automation software providers, semiconductor manufacturing equipment vendors, wafer suppliers, outsourced semiconductor assembly and test, electronic chemicals, and manufacturers of PV systems.
As the impact of digital on lives and businesses has accelerated, semiconductor markets have boomed, with sales growing by more than 20 percent to about $600 billion in 2021. A McKinsey analysis based on a range of macroeconomic assumptions suggests the industry’s aggregate annual growth could average from 6 to 8 percent per year, up to 2030. The result is a $1 trillion dollar industry by the end of the decade, assuming average price increases of about 2 percent per year and a return to balanced supply and demand after current volatility.
Themes Trading is Swissquote’s collection of thematic portfolios, which allow traders not to buy individual stocks but assortments of stocks. Investors opting for this thematic investment are looking at what lies ahead and can therefore position their portfolio for faster growth and higher returns.
Swissquote introduced Themes Trading in September 2015. Back then, the service offered an initial set of 30 diverse themes, including global electric, cyber security, Greek recovery and fitness trends. The service offers investors to find opportunities in thematic investing, coupled with the highest possible transparency.
Swissquote has been updating its list of themes lately. Recent additions include Logistics and Financial Cash Dividend Certificate.
