Robinhood Prediction Markets volumes drop 23% in August 2026
After driving its Q2 Revenues to new heights, US neobroker Robinhood (NASDAQ:HOOD) saw a decline among clients in Prediction Markets trading for the second month in a row in August 2026.
Prediction Markets slow
Reporting its August 2026 operating data, Robinhood said that Event Contracts traded in its Prediction Markets unit were 4.7 billion in the month, down 23% from July 2026, but still up 15x year-over-year.
The declines in July (-5% MoM) and August are somewhat understandable given the boost in volumes seen in Q2, and especially in June, around World Cup related Event Contracts. However given how much the business has grown overall at Robinhood as seen in the year-over-year figures, there is likely some concern about the direction of Prediction Markets trading going forward.
Crypto trading rising
On the other hand, Crypto trading – which had declined in Q2 to the point where income from Prediction Markets far outweighed Crypto at Robinhood – was up 61% from July 2026 at $17.5 billion. Not too surprising, given Bitcoin’s price leap from the low $60,000s up to above $80,000 mid month.
