Pepperstone CEO: Volumes up 30%, New Clients and Revenue up double digits in 2026
The reactions to IG Group’s Q3 Trading Update continue.
Tamas Szabo, CEO of leading Australia based online broker Pepperstone, has issued a statement on LinkedIn (full text below) pointing out that 2026 has gone fairly well at the company.
IG trading update fallout
Pepperstone’s reaction come after London based IG Group (LON:IGG) issued a (disappointing) Q3 Trading Update on Friday morning, leading to a 22% plunge in its share price. IG’s share price drop dragged down the stock price of other brokers by 10%+ including CMC Markets (LON:CMCX) and Plus500 (LON:PLUS), which then issued their own statements to try and calm the waters.
While Pepperstone is a private company, it (and other) brokers will be looking to assuage clients, employees and investors that what is going on at IG is company-specific, and not occurring across “the industry”.
Tamas Szabo statement
Tamas’ statement read as follows.
There’s been mixed results and plenty of focus on broker performance in the market recently, we don’t publish results mid year but I wanted to mention how Pepperstone is performing.
This financial year so far (Q1 July-Sep), we’ve seen over 30% increase in volumes, double digit growth across key measures, including new clients and revenue. New client first trades are also 40% ahead of last year, with strong demand across our core markets and growth regions.
This February we launched Pepperstone Crypto in Australia and planning a gradual global roll out. We’re putting more energy into our proprietary technology to serve clients better. We’ve also recently appointed a new CTO, Nigel Fernandes, to help lead this work.
Pepperstone is growing and staying focused on our vision of building one of the world’s most trusted fintech ecosystems.
We’re always interested in hearing from great people who want to build with us across our regions. We’re continuing to invest in our global footprint, including our recent move into a larger London office and further major office upgrades coming across our network soon.
