Odey Asset Management to close
Odey Asset Management is in the process of winding down, an announcement on the company’s website states.
Odey Asset Management, including Brook Asset Management and Odey Wealth, will be closing. Fund Managers and Funds have moved to new Asset Managers.
There are brief notices for every business that forms part of Odey Asset Management. For instance:
“Odey Wealth Management UK Ltd is in the process of winding down. Investor funds are being returned and/or transferred as discussed with your Investment Director. Staff remain to wind down the business and make sure investors are looked after”.
Odey founder and controlling shareholder Crispin Odey was removed from his own company by Odey’s executive committee, following a Financial Times report that 13 women had accused Odey of sexual misconduct over a 25 year period.
In June 2023, retail FX and CFDs broker Plus500 (LON:PLUS) announced that the company has purchased 7,327,605 of its own shares from Odey Asset Management LLP. The shares represent approximately 8.2% of Plus500’s issued share capital (excluding shares already held in treasury).
