OANDA Japan to make multi-factor authentication mandatory
Starting December 6, 2025, OANDA Japan Inc, a subsidiary of online broker OANDA Corporation, will make multi-factor authentication mandatory for logging into a client account.
Recently, there have been frequent cases of unauthorized access and fraudulent transactions due to the theft of customer information (IDs, passwords, etc.) through phishing and malware.
To protect its customers’ assets from unauthorized access, OANDA Japan will be requiring multi-factor authentication using Google Authenticator as of 11:00 AM on December 6, 2025.
After that date, clients of the broker will no longer be able to log into their accounts unless they have completed the setup.
Multi-factor authentication will apply to: My Page, OANDA Lab, fxTrade (OANDA app), and TradingView.
Authentication Method: After logging in with your email address and password, enter a one-time password using Google Authenticator.
Multi-factor authentication will also be gradually implemented when changing withdrawal destination and registration information.
Google Authenticator is a free security app available for smartphones. When logging in to My Page, OANDA Lab, fxTrade (OANDA app), and TradingView, you will need to enter a one-time code generated by this app in addition to logging in with your email address and password.
This prevents unauthorized access by third parties and strengthens security when logging in to your account.
This process is different from the two-factor authentication for MT4 and MT5.
