Mitrade sponsors World Snooker Tour
Far East focused Retail FX and CFDs brokerage group Mitrade has announced that it is sponsoring the World Snooker Tour (WST), as its Official Trading Partner.
Mitrade said that the move comes as Asia-Pacific’s retail trading population turns markedly younger: CME Group cites participation in the region has grown 16% over the past five years, with younger Southeast Asian investors driving much of that expansion.
That same generational shift is reshaping snooker’s own following. 80% of the sport’s fans in China are 50 or younger, against 27% in the UK, according to WST figures reported by TIME. Together, these trends strengthen the case for financial education and disciplined decision-making.
Mitrade has been growing alongside that same generation. Since January 2026, the group reports that active trading clients increased 54% year on year, while the number of trades rose 79% and total lots traded grew 149%. The WST sponsorship gives Mitrade an international platform to deepen engagement with a growing community of traders and fans.
Kevin Lai, Vice President of Mitrade Group said,
“The World Snooker Tour is a prestigious international platform with a strong global following, and we are proud to support its reach. The concentration, composure and judgement the sport demands reflect qualities we value: thoughtful decision-making, discipline and respect for risk. This sponsorship reflects our responsible growth and commitment to helping traders understand financial markets, and we look forward to a meaningful relationship with WST’s community.”
Peter Wright, Chief Commercial Officer of WST said,
“We are delighted to welcome Mitrade to the World Snooker Tour. This is a significant partnership with a dynamic global brand, and we are excited about working together across our European events.”
Mitrade’s involvement with WST will kick off at the British Open in Cheltenham on 31 August 2026.
