Interactive Brokers makes US and Canadian shares eligible for Dividend Reinvestment Program
Clients of electronic trading major Interactive Brokers can now reinvest cash dividends into additional full or fractional shares of the US and Canadian stocks held in their account.
By enabling automatic dividend reinvestment for their account, traders are authorizing Interactive Brokers to reinvest or place a standing order with its affiliates in the United States and Canada to reinvest any dividends their account is entitled to receive in connection with certain stocks and ETFs (where available).
On the morning following confirmation of receipt of a dividend payment on an eligible stock or ETF, the broker will use the dividend payment (or cash-in-lieu of dividend payment if your shares are on loan at the time of the dividend payment) to purchase additional shares of that stock or ETF.
