Eightcap gets UAE SCA Category Five license
FNG has learned that Australia based Retail FX and CFDs broker Eightcap has recently received a Category Five “introducers” license from UAE financial regulator Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA). Eightcap joins a long line of global (and local) online brokers to seek a license to operate in the UAE to serve MENA region clients recently. Other Category Five license recipients during 2025 have included EC Markets, CPT Markets, VPFX, and STARTRADER.
The Category Five license, formally issued on January 15, 2025, was granted to Eightcap Financial Services MENA LLC, allowing for “financial consultations” and “introduction”. (A full Category One license would also allow for providing brokerage and trading services, and direct holding of client funds.)
Eightcap is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, and operates licensed subsidiaries in its home country as well as in Cyprus (Eightcap EU Ltd), the UK (Eightcap Group Ltd), and the UAE, in addition to offshore operations in The Bahamas. The company is controlled by its Chairman (and former CEO) Joel Murphy, and Eightcap’s lead analyst Joe Jeffriess.
