MetaQuotes’ MT5 partners with Cloudflare against DDoS attacks
MetaQuotes, maker of the popular MetaTrader retail trading platforms, has announced that it has brought on online security and performance company Cloudflare to enable DDoS protection and improve network performance for its MetaTrader 5 (MT5) platform, and for brokers running MT5.
MetaQuotes stated that Cloudflare Spectrum for brokers prevents disruptions caused by bad traffic, while allowing good traffic through. Cloudflare’s global network spans more than 200 cities and offers more than 35 Tbps of network capacity.
While protection against DDoS attacks is a great concern for many of Cloudflare’s customers, speed figures still remain an important factor. By leveraging the Cloudflare network to route traffic more efficiently, MetaQuotes said it is able to decrease latency and improve the stability of network connections. This means that platform users can experience higher speeds in incoming exchange data rates compared to a direct connection.
Achiel van der Mandele (pictured above), Product Manager at Cloudflare, commented:
“Having safe access to realtime exchange data is key for MetaQuotes’ customers. We’re very pleased to be able to support the MetaTrader platform with Cloudflare Spectrum. With Spectrum, customers can protect their MetaTrader endpoints from DDoS attacks and increase network performance.”
