FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that UK online brokerage leader IG Group has been experiencing some issues lately with its back end and trading systems.

The latest iteration of IG’s IT issues manifested itself late yesterday, July 14, when IG sent a note to clients that “there are currently issues with our MetaTrader 4 platform. We’re investigating now at the highest priority….”. The issue was resolved after about 30 minutes.

On July 7 clients of IG’s IG Index Ltd also experienced some trading platform issues. Those problems persisted for about three hours before being resolved.

In early June IG reported two incidents – one with its ProRealTime charting-based trading platform where clients were unable to view or open trades via ProRealTime for about an hour, and another where some general trading platform functions were not working properly.

IG posted record revenue of £259 million in its most recent financial quarter. The company is in the process of implementing a system-wide rebrand, as was exclusively reported by FNG at the beginning of June.
