Trustly, open banking payments provider, announces that it will welcome back Alex Gonthier as CEO of Trustly, Inc., the Americas division of Trustly AB, effective October 31, 2022.

Gonthier is the founder and former CEO of PayWithMyBank, Inc., which merged with Trustly in June 2019. He transitioned to Executive Chairman in 2021.

Since 1997, Gonthier has been a serial founder and entrepreneur in FinTech. Gonthier was co-founder and CEO of iPIN, a leading digital payments pioneer where he co-invented Open Banking Payments in 2000 (iPIN was acquired by Aepona and subsequently, Intel Corp.). Gonthier was also the CTO of mobile payments company Paymo, which merged with Boku, the global leader in carrier billing-based payments (now public, LON: BOKU). He was also CEO and Director of digital ticketing platforms Trinity Mobile and Ticketscript (now part of Eventbrite, NYSE: EB).
