Robert Buxton leaves IS Prime, forms DeepFin Markets

FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that longtime IS Prime sales director Robert Buxton has left the Prime-of-Prime broker, to form a new venture called DeepFin Markets.

Robert Buxton had been with IS Prime since 2016, after spending six years at Bloomberg in London, in charge of eFX sales at the company’s agency broker unit Bloomberg Tradebook.

DeepFin Markets is a data driven proprietary trading firm, focusing on FX and listed derivatives. Robert’s co-founder at DeepFin is Turkey based quant trading expert Mert Tahta, CEO of artificial intelligence firm Aigotirma.

Prior to starting FNG, Gerald founded Forex industry B2B news website LeapRate.com in 2010, selling it in 2018 to publicly traded Catena Media plc (STO:CTM). An avid skier, cyclist and ice hockey player, Gerald was previously an investment banker for more than a decade at Bear Stearns, Robertson Stephens, and Merrill Lynch. Gerald holds an MBA from Columbia University in New York and a BCOM degree from the University of Toronto.
