Institutional FX trading has strong September 2026, volumes up 18%
Following a typically slow summer, the institutional FX world had a very good start to the fall trading session, with eFX trading volumes up by double digit percent levels across the board.
Each of FXSpotStream, Cboe FX, EuronextFX and Deutsche Borse’s 360T saw trading volume increases of between 12-22% in September 2026, averaging an 18% increase for the month over August. FXSpotStream set a new volume record in September, at USD $179.118 billion ADV.

Cboe FX (formerly HotspotFX)
- September 2026 average daily volumes were $74.20 billion, +20.4% from August’s $61.63 billion.
EuronextFX (formerly FastMatch)
- September 2026 ADV $34.50 billion, +21.6% from August’s ADV of $28.37 billion.
FXSpotStream
- September’s Overall ADV of USD 179.118 billion represents a new high for FXSpotStream, replacing March 2026’s previous record. September represented a 16.00% increase MoM, compared to August 2026, and a 43.00% increase YoY. September’s ADV consisted of USD 129.515 billion in Spot (also a new high on the Service) and USD 49.603 billion in other products.
- FXSpotStream’s Total ADV MoM (Sep ’26 vs Aug ’26) increased 16.00%.
- FXSpotStream’s Total ADV YoY (Sep ’26 vs Sep ’25) increased 43.00%.
- FXSpotStream’s Spot ADV MoM (Sep ’26 vs Aug ’26) increased 20.14%.
- FXSpotStream’s Spot ADV YoY (Sep ’26 vs Sep ’25) increased 57.59%.
- FXSpotStream’s Other ADV MoM (Sep ’26 vs Aug ’26) increased 6.40%.
- FXSpotStream’s Other ADV YoY (Sep ’26 vs Sep ’25) increased 15.16%.
- Year-to-date, for the period Jan-Sep 2026, FXSpotStream’s overall ADV of USD 158.152 billion marks a 44.88% increase when compared to the same period last year.
360T
- Average daily volumes (ADV) at 360T came in at $42.39 billion in September 2026, up 12.7% from August’s $37.60 billion.
