Exclusive: Trading 212 adds compliance expert Gary Dixon to its board
FNG Exclusive… Is Trading 212 prepping to go public?
After recently receiving £20 million in a series of capital injections from its Bulgarian shareholders and bringing on board a new CEO, FCA regulated online broker Trading 212 UK Ltd has added renowned compliance expert Gary Dixon to its board of directors.
Gary Dixon, who will sit as an independent director on the Trading 212 board, is a Chartered Accountant by training who ran CS Compliance Solutions Limited, one of the largest specialist regulatory compliance companies in the UK. CS Compliance was acquired by NASDAQ listed Resources Connection Inc in 2007.
Since then Mr. Dixon has sat on a number of boards, including current appointments as Non Executive Director & Chair of Audit Committee at Universities Superannuation Scheme Ltd, the corporate trustee of the USS pension scheme with over £80 billion in assets and approximately 440,000 members; Member of the Appointments Committee on the Financial Reporting Council; and Non Executive Director & Chair of Audit Committee at CBF Funds Trustee Ltd, with responsibility for six of the Church of England’s investment funds worth approximately £3bn which are managed by CCLA. Mr. Dixon also sits as Chair of the Governing Body at the University of Leicester.
As noted above, controlling shareholders Borislav Nedialkov and Ivan Ashminov have put nearly £20 million of additional capital into Trading 212 this year, supporting the company’s growth. The company also hired Tickmill executive Mukid Chowdhury as Trading 212’s new CEO, as was also exclusively reported by FNG earlier this year.
