FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that Cyprus based Retail FX and CFDs broker Markets.com has hired Eleni Nicolaou as the company’s new Affiliate Marketing Manager.

Ms. Nicolaou joins Markets.com from rival broker TIOMarkets, where she was Head of Affiliates and Partners the past two years. Prior to TIOMarkets Eleni Nicolaou also worked at FXGlobe, BDSwiss, and HotForex. TIOMarkets operates both an onshore, FCA regulated business and an offshore unit based in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The company is controlled by Malaysian businessman Manmohan Singh Balbir Singh, who also owns Cyprus based Retail FX broker FXPrimus.

Markets.com is the Retail FX “B2C” arm of TradeTech Group, the financials division of online gaming and trading company Playtech (LON:PTEC). As was exclusively reported here at FNG back in August, Playtech has been actively shopping both Markets.com and the B2B businesses of TradeTech, CFH Group and Alpha Capital Markets, both technology and service providers to FX brokers and institutional traders. However we understand that not much real progress has been made yet toward closing a sale of either unit, mainly due to Playtech’s $250 million asking price.

However the underlying businesses continue to perform quite well in the recent high-volatility, high-trading-volume environment, as we reported that TradeTech “saved Playtech’s first half” with stellar results which we understand are continuing into 2H-2020.
