Standard Chartered appoints Sadia Ricke as Group Chief Risk Officer
Standard Chartered today announced the appointment of Sadia Ricke as its new Group Chief Risk Officer.
Ms Ricke will join the Group on 1 February 2023 and will be based in London. Her appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
In her new role, Sadia Ricke will report directly to Group Chief Executive Bill Winters and become a member of the Group’s Management Team.
Sadia Ricke joins from Société Générale, where she started in 1994. She held various roles in credit and structured finance, before moving to Hong Kong as Head of Global Finance for Asia Pacific in 2015. She was appointed Group Country Head and Head of Coverage and Investment Banking for the UK in 2017. In 2019, Sadia became Deputy Chief Risk Officer and then latterly, Group Chief Risk Officer in January 2021.
Bill Winters, Group Chief Executive, said:
“Sadia has a broad range of financial and risk experience from her career, not least of which is a thorough understanding of our footprint markets. I and the rest of our Management Team welcome Sadia and look forward to working closely with her.”
Sadia Ricke replaces Mark Smith, who retires from the Group on 31 December 2022 after a forty-year career in financial services, the last seven of which were spent with Standard Chartered.
