Matthew Briers, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Wise plc, was involved in a bicycle accident in February and has since been recovering at home. His recovery is ongoing and his return to work will be gradual, marked with a formal return as CFO from today.
Matthew Briers said:
“I am hugely thankful for all the support and to those who have stepped up whilst I have been at home. In particular Kingsley Kemish who, in fulfilling the role of CFO in the interim, has helped run the team and in doing so helped me take the time I’ve needed to recover.”
Speaking of management moves at Wise, let’s recall that in December 2021, Taavet Hinrikus said he would step down as Chair and Director, and David Wells became Independent Non-Executive Chair.
David Wells, formerly Chief Financial Officer of Netflix, has been a director of the Wise Board since July 2019. He has also served as a member of the Audit and Risk Committee.
