Gerard Florian to retire from ANZ
ANZ today announced Gerard Florian has decided to retire as Group Executive Technology & Group Services on 4 August 2025 to pursue a non‐executive career after a 40‐year career in technology.
Mr Florian first joined ANZ in 2017 as Group Executive Technology and has been responsible for driving ANZ’s technology strategy as well as building and managing the Group’s technology infrastructure. Before joining ANZ, Mr Florian also served 18 months as an advisor to the Group Board as a member of the ANZ International Technology and Digital Business Advisory Panel.
Current ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited Chief Information Officer, Michael Bullock, has been appointed Acting Group Executive, Technology & Group Services while a global search is undertaken. Mr Florian will assist with a comprehensive transition.
Having joined ANZ in 2009, Mr Bullock has significant international Financial Services experience in technology, payments and operations. Before joining ANZ, he held senior roles at Citi in New York and London and has previously served as Chief Operations Officer for ANZ in New Zealand and the Pacific and Head of Institutional Operations.
