Financial data analytics company First Derivatives (LON:FDP) made the second major addition of an outside technology executive to its board this month, announcing that Cloudflare CFO Thomas Seifert has become a Non-Executive Director of the company with effect from yesterday, 13 July 2020.
Earlier in July FD added BMC Software CEO Ayman Sayed to its board.
As noted Thomas Seifert is Chief Financial Officer of Cloudflare Inc. (NYSE:NET), a leading web infrastructure and security provider, where he is also responsible for the company’s business data analytics and data science. He brings a wealth of expertise across the cloud, SaaS and data analytics, which is highly relevant to FD’s growth ambitions. In addition, Thomas has extensive operating experience growing and scaling technology companies across cybersecurity, software and semiconductors.
Prior to his current role Thomas was Chief Financial Officer of Symantec Corp, a leading cybersecurity company, where he was responsible for the implementation of transformation and M&A strategies. He was also CFO at Advanced Micro Devices, where he held an interim CEO position. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration, an MBA from Friedrich Alexander University, Erlangen, Germany and an MA in Economics from Wayne State University, Detroit, USA.
This appointment to the Board is the latest senior hire by FD to deliver continued business growth. Thomas’s broad sector experience will help support efforts to accelerate the adoption of the Group’s Kx streaming analytics technology platform in sectors adjacent to and outside of its capital markets heritage.
Commenting on his appointment, Thomas Seifert said:
“FD is an exciting company with market-leading products that have the potential to deliver rapid growth. As a Non-Executive Director, I look forward to contributing to the Group’s growth strategy and helping it to achieve its full potential.”
Donna Troy, Chairman of FD, commented:
“We continue to expand the Board with outstanding industry leaders to support our vision and high growth potential. Thomas’s strategic and global growth management expertise, developed within sectors that are highly relevant to FD, will enable him to make a significant contribution to the Group’s development. I am delighted to welcome him to the Board.”
The 56 year old Mr. Seifert (56) is also currently a director of IPG Photonics Corporation.
