FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that FCA regulated broker Stratos Markets Limited has added Richard Weighell to its Board of Directors, as a Non Executive Director.

Richard Weighell recently retired as a partner at accounting firm BDO. An accountant with almost 40 years’ experience as a financial auditor, internal auditor and consultant, he has worked with a range of sectors and types of businesses. For the last 10 years his focus has been on financial services internal audit and regulatory compliance and ESG. He also served as Financial Services Advisory Partner at BDO UK.

The FXCM group rebranded its operating companies to the Stratos brand last year, including Forex Capital Markets Limited becoming Stratos Markets Limited in the UK, although the client-facing brand globally has remained FXCM. FXCM / Stratos is ultimately owned by publicly traded US based financial services company Jefferies Financial Group Inc (NYSE:JEF).

Today is my last day at BDO LLP and indeed, my last day in professional services. Over the years I have had some great colleagues and clients and thoroughly enjoyed my time and I will miss it. But I am also excited about moving into my new role as a non executive director at Stratos Markets, and still enjoying the challenges and constructive relationships and hopefully providing sound advice, but with a lot less working hours.
