FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that 2023 has brought a change at the top of leading institutional FX and CFD services firm Equiti Capital UK Limited, the London based, FCA regulated arm of global broker Equiti Group.

Paul Webb, who joined Equiti UK as COO in 2021 after serving for several years as CEO of ADSS UK, has been named Interim CEO replacing Nigel Holmes. Mr. Holmes was named Interim CEO of Equiti UK two years ago following a restructuring which led to then-CEO Brian Myers’ move to Dubai to become CEO of Equiti Brokerage (Seychelles) and the Chief Commercial Officer for Equiti Group.

Nigel Holmes – who has just changed his LinkedIn status to “to be announced” – is apparently staying with Equiti Group, in an as-yet-unnamed “senior assignment role” within the company.

Equiti Capital also announced the appointment of Bryan Murphy who will head Equiti Capital’s finance team, replacing Sheetal Chouhan.

FNG received the following note from an Equiti Group spokesperson on the matter:

Equiti Capital today announced that Nigel Holmes, who has served as the interim Chief Executive Officer of Equiti Capital UK since June 2021 as well as a director and board member since March 2018, will be leaving to take up a senior assignment role within Equiti Group.

Paul Webb, who is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Equiti Capital, will serve as the interim CEO of Equiti Capital until a new CEO is appointed.

Equiti Capital also announced the appointment of Bryan Murphy who will head Equiti Capital’s finance team. Bryan has over 25 years of experience in the financial services sector, serving as a Chief Financial Officer in the investment management and inter-dealer broker industries. He has managed financial teams that operate in multi-regional, multi-currency countries and in large, complex, regulated group structures throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Bryan holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics degree from Bath University in the UK. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Tax Advisor certified by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Chartered Institute of Taxation in the UK, respectively.
