FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that longtime Orbex executive Hakam Thalji has left to join prop trading firm The Trading Pit, as the company’s new Head of Dealing.

Hakam Thalji has been with Cyprus based Retail FX and CFDs broker Orbex since 2018, serving as Head of Brokerage and Dealing Room Operations. Prior to joining Orbex, Hakam had worked at Vinson Financials, Falcon Brokers and Trade Center.

The Trading Pit was established in 2022, and is domiciled in Liechtenstein but managed mainly from Cyprus. Late last year the company raised €10 million in funding led by Pinorena Capital, an Estonia based private equity firm led by fintech entrepreneur Illimar Mattus. Pinorena’s other investments include Tickmill and Darwinex. Late last year The Trading Pit hired former Skilling and FXview executive Daniela Egli as CEO. The company is a multi-asset prop trading firm committed to redefining trading and investment standards.
