Exclusive: OKX hires Liam Birch as Head of Trading in Dubai
FNG Exclusive… Upping its game in the MENA region, FNG has learned that crypto exchange operator and Web3 tech company OKX has hired experienced digital assets industry executive Liam Birch, as Head of Trading in Dubai.
OKX subsidiary OKX Middle East Fintech FZE received a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license in Dubai last year.
Liam Birch joins OKX after serving as Head of Operations for Abu Dhabi based crypto investment firm MidChains for the past year. He has also worked at various crypto firms since 2019 including Rain, Zumo, and Bitwala. Liam was previously with online UK brokers IG (2015-2018) and Hargreaves Lansdown (2010-2013).
Liam posted the following note on social media regarding his new role at OKX.

October marked a major milestone for OKX with the receipt of their VARA license, reinforcing the commitment to regulatory compliance and setting new standards in the industry. Additionally, they became the first global cryptocurrency exchange to launch AED pairs, further solidifying the dedication to bringing secure, accessible, and regulated solutions to the market.
