Exclusive: Niki Beattie resigns from XTX Markets board
FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that Niki Beattie, one of the best known and respected executives in the London financial sector, has resigned her position on the board of market maker XTX Markets, at the end of her five-year term. Niki had been the Chairman of XTX Markets’ board since 2017, sitting as a non-executive director, and was also a member of the XTX board Audit Committee.
XTX provided FNG with the following comment:
Niki Beattie’s five-year term as Chairman of XTX Markets finished on Oct 3rd. Zar Amrolia has now been appointed Chairman alongside his role as co-CEO as part of the leadership transition post the appointment of Hans Buehler as Deputy CEO.
Niki Beattie was Chairman of Aquis Exchange PLC from 2013-2021, acting as Chair of Aquis from start-up through to IPO and beyond. She was previously a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch in London for 15 years, serving as Head of Market Structure and as a member of the firm’s European Equity Management team.
Other previous directorships and roles include Committee Member – Regulatory Decisions Committee at the FCA (2012-2019), Non Executive Director at MOEX Moscow Exchange (2012-2016), and Non Executive Director at Borsa İstanbul (2016-2019). Niki currently sits on the boards of Kepler Cheuvreux UK, Iress, and the Financial Markets Standards Board (FMSB). She also runs her own financial markets structure consulting firm, Market Structure Partners.
