Exclusive: FX sales veteran Kevin Gillespie leaves Spotex for Menai Financial
FNG Exclusive… Yet another senior, experienced FX industry executive is “going crypto”.
FNG has learned that Kevin Gillespie, who has been working in the institutional FX industry for about three decades, is leaving his position as Director of Institutional Sales at FX ECN Spotex, to join Menai Financial Group.
Menai Financial provides institutional-grade digital asset investment products and trading services. Currently, Menai has two primary business segments: Menai Asset Management, an asset management platform with investment products that offer sophisticated investors holistic, risk-adjusted exposure to the digital asset space, and Menai Markets, a digital asset market making platform. Menai has offices in New York and London. The company was founded and is run by former Morgan Stanley Co-President Zoe Cruz.
Kevin Gillespie began his FX industry career in the late 1980s as an FX trader at TD Bank. He eventually spent more than 10 years at Hotspot FX, where as VP FX Sales he helped see the company through its acquisition by BATS Global Markets. For the past three years he worked at Spotex, run by Mr. Gillespie’s former Hotspot FX colleague Ritesh Agrawal.
Kevin posted the following note today on social media regarding his move:
