Exclusive: ex Amana Capital CEO Ahmad Khatib joins CFI as Board Advisor
FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that longtime FX industry executive Ahmad Khatib has joined UAE based Retail FX and CFDs brokerage group CFI Financial. He will have a non-executive role, as an advisor to the Board.
Ahmad Khatib was CEO of Arabic market focused Retail FX and CFDs broker Amana Capital for 12 years between 2009-2021, leaving last year when the company’s controlling shareholder 180 Capital (Karim Farra and Ziad Aboujeb) replaced him with industry veteran Muhammad Rasoul.
Since leaving Amana, Mr. Khatib has been working on a new Arabic language personal finance app called Mafhoom (at mafhoom.app), co-founding the company alongside his longtime CMO and business development head at Amana, Ziad Melhem, who also left Amana following Mr. Rasoul’s arrival.
Ahmad Khatib posted the following note today on social media:
I am happy to announce that I have joined CFI Financial Group Holding Limited as an Advisor to the Board.
Looking forward to working with the founders and team of this leading group that has been in business for over 24 years.
CFI is the brand you see on billboards in different cities with Pep Guardiola as their brand ambassador.
