FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that leading Australia based Retail FX and CFDs broker Axi has undergone some internal structural changes to support its continued global growth. As part of the changes, Dubai based executive Owais Anwer has been promoted to the position of Global Head of Technology Operations.

In the new role, Owais will lead global functions including Security, DevOps, Observability, Application Services, and Infrastructure.

With over 20 years of experience in the fintech sector, and a decade-long tenure at Axi, the company said that Owais brings strong leadership and deep operational insight to this expanded remit. Owais originally joined Axi in 2015 as an Engineer in the company’s Sydney headquarters. He transferred to Axi’s Dubai office in 2017, and since 2020 has served as Head of Application Services for the company.

Axi is controlled by its management team headed by CEO Rajesh Yohannan, who led a management buyout of Axi in 2022, as was exclusively reported at the time here at FNG.
