FNG has learned that another alumnus of IG Group’s recently closed BrightPool Ltd operation in Cyprus has found a new home, with Pavlos Elpidorou joining eToro (NASDAQ:ETOR), as Global Head of Brokerage.

Pavlos Elpidorou was one of the heads of IG’s CySEC licensed BrightPool operation, serving as COO and Executive Director of BrightPool since 2022. He had been with IG/BrightPool since 2019, initially joining as Head of Dealing. Pavlos had previously worked at CFD brokers OBR Invest, and 24option.com / 24fx.com operator Rodeler Ltd.

In 2024 IG said that it would take “decisive action” to close initiatives not delivering acceptable returns, which ultimately included BrightPool, including the voluntary renunciation of BrightPool’s CySEC CIF license.
