As it continues to build toward offering clients regulated trading in “traditional” financial instruments, crypto trading platform Crypto.com has announced that the company has hired South Africa based executive Kevin Algeo, as its new Senior Vice President, Capital Markets – International.

Kevin Algeo has more than 10 years of experience in the CFDs trading industry. He was with IG Group from 2013-2024, serving at different times as CEO – Australia & New Zealand, and as CEO – APAC & Africa for IG, before leaving IG last year.

Just yesterday we reported that Crypto.com had acquired a CySEC CIF licensed company (formerly the operator of the BrightFX online trading brand) to expand traditional instrument trading across Europe, including CFDs. Crypto.com rival Kraken has made a similar move, also out of Cyprus, as a number of crypto trading providers are moving to expand into other product areas, including stocks, futures, and CFDs trading.
