FNG has learned that Australia based Retail FX and CFDs broker Axi has begun to take steps to bolster both its B2C and B2B operations in the UK/EU region, including the hiring of Andrea Rebusco as Regional Head (UK, EU and LATAM), out of London.

The move marks the return of Andrea Rebusco to the retail online trading sector, after he worked for nine years at IG Group (LON:IGG) from 2009-2018, ending his tenure at IG as Head of EMEA Trading Services. Since then, Andrea worked as CCO at fractional bond trading company WiseAlpha, as Head of Brokerage at digital wealth manager Moneyfarm, and most recently as Managing Director Retail Brokerage at energy derivatives liquidity provider Onyx Capital Group.

Axi has been actively building its profile in the UK, acting as a key sponsor of Manchester City and running ad campaigns centered around Man City stars. Axi also recently launched its AxiPrime institutional arm offering multi-asset liquidity in the brokerage space, and with Andrea’s background in both retail brokerage and B2B liquidity, it seems likely that Axi will be looking to increase AxiPrime’s footprint in the UK and Europe as well.
