NEX Exchange rebrands as Aquis following acquisition
For those looking for price quotations of shares of their favorite company on NEX Exchange, they will notice that those will now be found on the rebranded Aquis Stock Exchange.
Aquis Exchange PLC – which interestingly is itself listed on rival London Stock Exchange Group’s AIM (ticker: AQX) – first announced the purchase of NEX in July from CME Group 2019 for just (a symbolic) £1, plus £2.7 million based on NEX Exchange’s current working capital levels at the time.
Aquis received FCA approval for the acquisition in early March, and has now rebranded NEX as noted to Aquis,
Aquis Stock Exchange is now one of only four equities-focused Recognised Investment Exchanges (RIEs) in the UK. It works with 51 registered brokers, 7 market makers and 89 companies currently listed on its two markets with a combined market capitalisation of approximately £1.9 billion.
