Coincheck, Inc, a subsidiary of Monex Group, has launched a project with Yuga Labs, the owner of NFT collections such as “Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYS),” to develop a metaverse city “Oasis MARS” in the metaverse “Otherside.”

Coincheck also started recruiting metaverse creators to participate as project members of “Oasis MARS” and collaboration partners to enhance “Oasis MARS” project.

Coincheck is currently focusing on developing “Oasis,” a project for urban development in a metaverse that utilizes blockchain among the emerging next-generation SNS-typed internet, and working to create a new customer experience and digital economic sphere by combining the metaverse and NFTs.

In January 2022, Coincheck began developing “Oasis TOKYO” in the metaverse game “The Sandbox,” and in March 2022, Coincheck began developing “Oasis KYOTO” in the metaverse game “Decentraland.” Collaborations with various artists, celebrities, brands, etc. have been decided even before metaverse cities are open to the public.

In “Oasis MARS,” Coincheck will continue to collaborate with various creators, artists, and other partners to advance the project and create a precedent in the still nascent metaverse, and pursue new possibilities in a world that combines metaverse and NFTs.

Coincheck is looking for metaverse creators to participate in the “Oasis MARS” project as project members, as well as artists, organizations, and companies that can help it promote the “Oasis MARS” and other “Oasis” projects through collaboration projects and etc.

“Otherside” is a user-driven open world platform that launched in April 2022 with 55,000 “Otherdeed” plots sold. In July 2022, a light paper was disclosed that presented the concept and future plans for “Otherside.” In addition, the first “Voyager’s Journey” trial version, which served as a technical test, was offered to approximately 4,300 “Otherdeed” holders and selected developers.
