Binance launches US Stocks and ETFs trading powered by Alpaca
Crypto exchange giant Binance is expanding its offering of non-digital-assets, today launching 24/5 trading of US stocks and ETFs, powered by Alpaca, a leader in brokerage infrastructure APIs offering access to options, stocks, ETFs, fixed income, and crypto.
After recently adding Prediction Markets trading and CFDs-like TradFi Perpetual Contracts earlier this year, Binance is strengthening its position as a multi-asset platform, expanding access to more traditional markets alongside digital assets within a single interface.
Becoming a Multi-Asset Super App
Binance was founded in 2017 with a focus on making digital assets more accessible to people around the world. From the beginning, the core objective was to lower barriers to entry, build scalable infrastructure that supports access, liquidity, custody, and compliance, and create products that help users participate in the evolving global economy.
Over time, that strategic direction has expanded from digital asset exchange services into a broader ecosystem of financial and blockchain-based solutions. As TradFi and on-chain ecosystems converge, Binance is actively responding to growing user demand, evolving into a multi-asset, multi-jurisdiction financial super app.
Bridging the Market Gap for Global Investors
In many regions across the world, retail investors face significant hurdles when attempting to access traditional global capital markets. High commission fees, fragmented account structures, complex onboarding processes, and expensive local currency conversions frequently restrict market participants from efficiently diversifying their portfolios. These operational and financial frictions limit choice and leave a clear gap between digital asset environments and traditional equity markets.
By establishing access to US equities, Binance aims to help reduce these barriers for global investors. As global markets continue to evolve, US equities remain an important asset class offering exposure to globally recognized companies, key sectors, and index-based strategies that may not be easily accessible in local markets. Users can also manage cross-border capital allocations using stablecoin funding options, primarily with USDC, with additional support for BNB (previously Binance Coin), USDT, USD1, and $U.
Shunyet Jan, Head of Spot and Derivatives Business at Binance said,
“Many users are looking for a more seamless way to access both digital assets and traditional financial products, and this launch helps us respond to that demand in a practical way. We believe the timing is right because investor interest in diversified, cross-border access continues to grow, and the underlying infrastructure is now mature enough to support a better user experience.”
Powered by Alpaca’s Broker API, Binance users can now:
- Invest in over 7,000 US-listed stocks and ETFs for as little as $5
- Trade nearly around-the-clock for select equities
- Access global traditional markets via a familiar crypto-native interface
- Build diversified, long-term strategies without navigating separate traditional brokerage platforms
With the integration of US equities, Binance is giving their users more choice, flexibility, and direct control over their capital management activity in one platform.
Bridging the Worlds of Traditional and On-Chain Finance Through Modern Infrastructure
Binance chose Alpaca as its infrastructure partner because of its API-based flexibility, product diversity and capabilities, and ease of integration. As a regulated, self-clearing broker-dealer, Alpaca provides the tech stack to power Binance’s expansion into new investment products.
Yoshi Yokokawa, Co-Founder and CEO of Alpaca said,
“At Alpaca, we’ve built a regulated brokerage infrastructure to help partners expand access to financial markets in a scalable way. Binance’s launch of US stocks and ETFs is an important example of how digital asset platforms are responding to user demand by providing more choice across traditional and digital markets. We’re pleased to support this launch and help power market access as these ecosystems continue to converge.”
Tokenization: A Strategic Framework for the Future of Access
The introduction of US equities marks an important milestone in Binance’s strategic vision of becoming a multi-asset super app. Their present focus is building long-term product adoption.
In addition to US equities, Binance announced the intention to release bStocks, their tokenized US securities offering, in the coming weeks, aiming to improve the access, programmability, and transferability of financial assets. As this next phase develops, Alpaca’s infrastructure will support Binance’s broader effort to bridge traditional and digital financial systems more efficiently.
With the launch, Binance is prioritizing user experience and operational readiness as they look to build a strong foundation for their next 3 billion users.
